The Aims of [deliberate] Mistake

My aims for this blog are both practical and ideological.

Practically, I would like to maintain up-to-date knowledge and keep my analytical skills sharp. I also enjoy explaining these things and honing my ability to communicate years of technical, jargon-filled knowledge in a sensible accessible way.

Ideologically, my motivation to post is much stronger. The spheres of politics and economics are hidden behind layers of academic nonsense; the subjects are expert in gatekeeping important everyday debates. I believe people have a right to engage in the discourse of economics and politics as citizens of a country, so I aim to provide part of that with a structurally critical lens.

[If you aren't familiar with structuralism then maybe I'll write about that sometime!]

I'm not specifically here to teach, but I am here to spread some alternative ideas to an orthodoxy (normal way of thinking) which runs very deep in our society. That is why I am also open to requests: there are things which are wrong with the world and I'd love to cast a critical eye over people's perceived social problems. My aim is always to find where we went wrong as a society; once we know the [deliberate] mistake, we know where to begin fixing it.

Should you agree with me?

Of course I think I am right; of course I think there is merit in what I am saying. However, sadly I'm not always right.

It's totally fine for you to disagree on a personal level, think I've made a mistake or even think I'm full of crap in every post. The most important thing is that you challenge the world around you. If you think my way of challenging the toxic beliefs and structures is useful then please keep reading.

When should I come back for the next post?

I aim to post around every week or two.

This project is in its early stages so please bear with me!
